Resident Evil Resistance: Two News Masterminds and Maps Revealed
It’s a good day for a Resident Evil to update fellow gamers. Today Capcom hit us up with new details for Resident Evil Resistance which we had the pleasure of testing. You can watch the video below and get a glimpse of things to come. For now, we are going to dive into what is new with the upcoming title.
Resident Evil Resistance New Update
Are you a hunter or the hunted? This is the question that is going to come up before you start up the game. In Resident Evil Resistance you can play as four characters that will be the subject in a few tests. All this while evading the evil plans of the Mastermind who is also player-controlled. That could be you and we shall see how ruthless you are and crafty or course to give these four a run for their lives. Check the details.
The upcoming 4 versus 1 asymmetrical survival horror experience included with Resident Evil 3. Infamous Resident Evil villains, Alex Wesker and Ozwell Spencer, each bring a unique brand of terror to the game and a set of special abilities to thwart the Survivors trying to escape Umbrella Corporation’s devious experiments. This duo rounds out Umbrella’s team of Masterminds in Resident Evil Resistance, alongside the previously announced newcomer Daniel Fabron and the notorious Annette Birkin.
Alex Wesker makes a return from Resident Evil Revelations 2 to become your worst nightmare. She is more direct with her actions instead of the more sinister means. Alex Wesker reminds of the Scarecrow since she likes to deal with subjects on a psychological level. This indeed makes her a perfect mastermind for the new title.
Alex’s play style puts an emphasis on using traps, while also manipulating the map to slow Survivors down with roadblocks and enhanced zombies. As if these were not intimidating enough, when Alex gets really serious, she can call upon a vicious carnivorous plant called Yateveo. This stationary bioweapon might not move, but in the right place it’s a powerful obstruction that keeps Survivors from their objective of escaping.
Now we take a more shadowy approach with Ozwell E. Spencer. I think Ozwell is bored and wants to take a more hands-on approach which I can respect. At times you want to get your hands dirty!
Enjoying his position as one of Umbrella Corporation’s founders, Ozwell uses the company’s cutting edge technology to torment Survivors. Unlike other Masterminds who summon controllable bioweapons (like Alex Wesker’s Yateveo, Annette Birkin’s G-Birkin and Daniel Fabron’s Tyrant), Ozwell instead generates a Disintegration Field that severely damages any Survivor who haplessly passes through it.
This is going to be one devious event going on with two crazy people as masterminds. In addition to that reveal of the new antagonist here are a few more details.
- Casino: An entertainment facility for thrill-seekers… and insidious Masterminds. Its still-operating slot machines and chips strewn across the floor tell the eerie tale of how hastily it was deserted during the collapse of Raccoon City.
- Abandoned Park: A horror-themed park located on the outskirts of Raccoon City. It too was left abandoned when zombies and bioweapons overran Raccoon City. Now, monsters both real and imagined now patiently await visitors.
Resident Evil Resistance will be included with Resident Evil 3 on April 3, 2020, for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X, and Steam. As promised below is my playtest of Resident Evil Resistance which I played as a Mastermind. Check back for more information as it develops. – Beast Out –
