Samurai Shodown – Return of a Legend Breakdown
Nostalgic fans of the series will be glad for the return and new comers never before played will be glad to experience Samurai Showdown. This was the first game to throw me into the weapon based 2-D fighting that was a unique dive with amazing characters and an interesting lore.
Embrace death and nothing stand in your way!
11 years have passed since the last series installment, and it is now time for SAMURAI SHODOWN to return in a brand-new game featuring high-end visuals and gameplay! Faithfully reproducing the game mechanics and atmosphere that contributed to the success of the series, SAMURAI SHODOWN includes a revolutionary feature that learns players’ game actions and patterns in order to create CPU-controlled “ghost” characters. With its story set one year before the very first installment, warriors and combatants from various backgrounds and with their own goals are about to battle to fulfill their destinies!
This will be something new as Samurai Shodown will be a prequel to the 1993 title. In that, this is not a remastered version but a new title in the series with better mechanics. There will be an online mode, but if you are not ready you can always hit the dojo to practice. This is a new feature to the series where the developers claim the game is studying your playstyle while you train. That is devious if it is true, but I say bring on the challenge. Because they are making a simulation of you!
Talk about dealing with a doppelganger that knows every move you make forcing you to adapt. I like features like that because as I learned in actual martial arts, “The only enemy you have to face in life is yourself!” It doesn’t stop there, you can send your ghost to the cloud so other fighters can face off against your ghost. This works in your favor as well to download friends or another online combatant ghost as well.
